Getting Festive!

Hello there, hope you've been having a good weekend, hasn't the weather been lovely today.....had a smashing walk along the river with the dogs today, and then I came home and made a Christmas card!!!!! yep, I know, but always around my birthday someone will always say something about there only being six months till Christmas day.

So, I've used Riley the Moose, and coloured him with Promarkers, and have added Frosted Lace stickles to the star and around the bottom of the tree, The paper is from Helz Cuppleditch special delivery stack, which I loved last year. The ribbon was found in a three rolls for a £1 basket in a local haberdashery and the Pearls are from Meiflower. The sentiment is my own work and I've used Century Gothic font. I do feel a little bit pleased with myself for making a start on the Chrimbo cards this early!

I would like to enter this into these challenges:
riley and co - stars!
christmas stampin - sweet inspiration have used the red, white, green, but also the colour of the moose matching the colour of the biscuits, hope this is ok!
polka doodle - animals
stampin for the weekend - anything goes
crimbo-crackers - you had it how long! papers and stamp have been with me for a fair while!
simon says stamps - anything goes

Thanks and hugs for popping in, enjoy your evening xx

Mirror, Mirror!

Hi to you all...hope you've had a good week! I am so glad its Friday, and with the exception of a charity quiz night on Sunday, haven't got a lot planned so am hoping for a bit of crafting time....Yay! As the boys were  watching footie on the tv last night, I got started with this card and finished it when I got in from work today. This has to be one of my favourite LOTV's as it is a little treat to colour.
Lotv "Mirror Mirror" coloured with Promarkers, with added glossy accents.
Papers are from Bo bunny
Martha Stewart border punch
ribbon from Hobbycraft
ribbon slider and pearls from Meiflower

I would like to enter this into these challenges:
Lili's little fairies - easy as 1,2,3 1image, two papers, 3 embellies (ribbon, slider and pearls)

My week (and a bit) in pictures......and some birthday thanks!

Hello to you all, something a little different from me today - being a bit on the "nosey side", I always enjoy reading other peoples Week in Pictures posts, so I thought today would be a good day to do one of my own!

So first up, would have to be Nippy and Daisy, who you might remember is our rescue dog and latest member of the clan. She is settling in really well - they do have the occasional squabble, but that's only to be expected, but things are going well.

Secondly, the first bloom from my rose bush....was beginning to think that it was never going to flower this year, but then this happened.

If I didn't include this photo, Megan would never have forgiven me - this is from last weekend, when she met "Glee" star, Chris Colfer.....she hasn't shut up about it since!!!

and we get to today......Thank you so much to my lovely friends for your birthday wishes and amazing cards, I feel very spoiled and blessed.

thank you to Tina, Fiona, Ginny, Alison, Sue, Debs, Jackie and Kay for your stunning cards
More birthday cards

birthday pressies (got a few other bits too, but just wanted to share the crafty stuff)
Sorry if I've got a little snap-happy here,  thanks for stopping by anyway. Sending big hugs!

Paper Piecing
if you've been a follower of my blog for a while, you'll know that this a technique that I have a soft spot for, as it takes me back to playing with paper dolls when I was a little girl (I bet I'm not the only one who couldn't wait, every week, to cut up their Bunty comic!!!!)

May I introduce...........

This lovely lady, Daisy!
Some of you may know, that we have been looking around for a companion for our Nippy, we wanted to give a loving home to a "rescue" dog and have been in touch with the RSPCA and Battersea, and during the week we visited a local little rehoming centre, ideally looking for another Westie, and then met this little lady who apparently had been dumped beside a very busy road. We had to wait a few days to see if her previous owners came forward, but as that didn't happen...surprise.....we brought her home with us today. So, she is Daisy and we think she is a Jack Russell cross with shih Tzu or Westie. She was a little shy at first, but is settling in well so far....early days yet, and I'm sure we'll have a few doggy squabbles before too long, but I thought you'd all like to meet her.

Anyway, hope you're having a lovely weekend, have scheduled this post, as I am taking Megan to Waterstones at Bluewater Shopping Centre for a book signing..........if you're a fan of Glee you'll know of Chris Colfer who plays Kurt, well its him and the wee tike is dragging me up there at 5am to get in the queue......lovely! catch you all later xx

One for the Kids with the Cutie Pies

Hello to you, and here we are in a new week. Hope your weekend was a good one. We had a run out in the car through a few pretty little villages and then stopped of at the Battersea Dogs Home at Brands Hatch. We've been talking for a while about a bit of four legged company for Nippy and now we've taken the plunge of registering with them.......we are hoping to rehome another Westie or similar, I will keep you posted on furry developments!
So that was yesterday......today its time for a new Cutie Pie challenge and this time its
One For the Kids
We want to see your super cute cards that would be suitable for a child.

Our challenge is sponsored by the wonderful

The border was made with an Xcut punch.
The sentiment is my own work...fonts used are Great Vibe and Century Gothic.

a little basket of cuteness!

Hello to you all, and I hope you had a great Saturday! Hopefully you've enjoyed some lovely weather too......it was lovely and sunny here in Kent, by the afternoon although still quite windy. After a morning of housework and a trip out to do the weekly food shop, it was time to play......

I love these Bildmalarna stamps, they are a little treat to colour. This is Mimosa with flower basket and she is coloured with promarkers, of course.
The papers are both freebie downloads from Sweet Shoppe designs. The sentiment is from craftwork cards and was part of a recent candy win (thanks Sue), the pearls are from Meiflower. I watched a demo on C&C channel yesterday where they'd used dewdrops dotted around the flowers, which I liked the look of but when I tried it with these flowers the size proportions looked all wrong, so I used pearls instead. The flowers and ribbon are from stash.

I would like to enter these challenges:
stampin for the weekend - cute
allsorts - in the garden
qkr stampede - ribbons and bows
crafting with dragonflies - card for a girl

Time for a New Beginning!

Hi to you all....yay, its the weekend! Its felt like a very long week back at work!
Soooo, I'm very excited today as its time for Team 2 to play host at the brand new and shiny, Crafty Friends Challenge, and as its a new beginning, this seemed like a very apt image to use for my DT card!

The image is from our lovely sponsors
who are offering a gorgeous stamp set and also a personalised stamp for our lucky winner.
The theme for this challenge is
Bingo!
and this is our board.....
As you can see I've gone along the bottom line, with Blue, flowers and buttons (which are from my stash, as is the ribbon) My image is coloured with promarkers and have used a Lacy circle nestie to cut out, I have also cut a slightly smaller circle which is underneath and kind of gives a threaded lace effect.
So, its our second challenge, the first one went sooo well and we'd love to have you joining in with us again, click here to come and see us!

Thursday 6 June 2013

'Cos we all enjoy a barbie!

Hello, to you all! Hope you're having a good week so far.

You may have noticed that I have given my little bloggy a bit of a makeover....and I am rather chuffed to be able to say that I did it myself! If you are interested, the dotty background was a freebie from June Lily and the header was adapted from a freebie from Dani's

Anyway, waffle done and onto my card, and this is one that I've made for The Hubby for Fathers day......its very apt as he is a bit of a BBQ man!
So I've used Top Chef from LOTV and coloured with promarkers.
The paper is a very old freebie from Raspberry Road, and have added a strip of washi tape.
The sentiment was a freebie here with a button and knotted ribbon added, from my stash.

I would like to enter this into these challenges:
