a bit of a dusty one!

Hi all....hope this week is going well for you all. I notice I have a few new followers....Hello to you, lovely to see you, I am nearing the 200 mark, so I might have to think about some candy! Things are a little chaotic for me as we are having our bathroom done.....not just a little bit, oh no, we are talking one wall being knocked through and a doorway being filled in, new bath/sink/toilet all sorts. We are in day two and as I type my gas has been switched off, so I am blooming freezing and despite the sheets all over the place there is a layer of "dust".......I have to keep chanting the mantra of the week "It'll all be worth it when Im soaking in the tub". A personal high point for me so far, was earlier when the toilet light went off and after watching my hubby and one of the builder chaps faffing around with the fuse box, with a lot of head scratching.....clever dick here suggest that maybe the lightbulb had gone......guess who was right!!!

So onto my card and as I am a bit of a pastel fan I decided to make a mid challenge DT card for the Pretty Pastels Cutie Pie challenge.

This sweet little stamp is called Mimosa's Teddy Bear from  Bildmalarna, and is coloured with promarkers. It is mounted onto a Nellie Snellen die with Freemont Crest die from Poppycrafts in corner. The paper is from a Fizzy Moon stack with sentiment printed on. Ribbon, button and pearls from stash
If you'd like to join in or see what else our DT have been up too, you can click here

More from beneath the dust sheet later in the week xx

Invitations Update!

I posted on here earlier in the week about making sample wedding invitations for my step-daughters wedding, thank you to everyone who replied to this, with some really helpful comments, I thought i'd share with you all what I've come up with..........thank God for dies and embossing folders!!!!

They have chosen  the one in the top photo that is embossed and has pink gems, although this are going to be replaced by purple pearls to fit in with the colour scheme, apparently they were delighted with all the options.......and this might lead to a commision for another friends wedding.

Thanks again for your help....you're the best!

The one that was very white!

Another card.......well, you can tell im off from work this week, hehehe! So I hope you've had a good day. Had to go to the hospital today with The Hubby. He had to have a CT scan following a few problems he has had with his "plumbing". I knew he was anxious because when the Nurse told him to go into the cubicle and strip down to his undies, he just shuffled off and did as he was told - no innuendo or lewd comment or anything, so unlike him!!! He looked such a sorry sight sitting in the waiting area with his gown that just about came down to his knees and two pale legs sticking out at the bottom, and I couldnt help wondering if this was the best day to be wearing Homer Simpson socks.

Anyway, back to the card, and when I noticed that this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge was "White on White".....I hoped I'd get time to make a card for this one - havent done WoW since before Christmas, and I do like it.

To be honest I cant remeber whereabouts this gorgeous image came from, but she is a little sweetie isnt she......I have coloured (hair, skin, tiara, and a little grey highlighting on her dress) with promarkers. I have also added Stardust Stickles to make her wings look sparkly and gossamer-like. The sentiment is a LOTV stamp, layered onto a Lacy Circles nestie. The border is a Cheery Lynn die and I have embossed the main section of the card with a Cuttlebug folder. Finally added a cute little charm which is attached with a white mini brad.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
love to create - all that glitters stickles on wings
hiding in my craftroom - embossing
stamp-n-doodle - bingo metal embellie, digi image, sparkle

Thats all for me for now.....will catch you all tomorrow xx

WEDDING INVITATION IDEAS NEEDED!!!!

After much shilly-shallying, feet dragging and generally faffing around my step-daughter has asked me to make her wedding stationary for her forthcoming wedding - in July (yep, July!!!)

It was originally discussed two years ago when they got engaged, but then she turned up at my house on Friday and out of the blue asked what was" happening about the invitations". If im being honest there is a part of me that would like to tell her where she can shove the said invitations, particularly as when I asked what sort of thing she wanted....she had no idea, did she want modern or tradtional....still no idea, I just about managed to extract a colour scheme out of her and told her that I'd make up a few samples for her to have a look at during the week.

So, I am wondering if any of you lovely folkies have made Wedding stationary either for yourselves or someone else - do you have any pictures on your blogs that I could have a peep at for inspiration, or do you know of any blogs that might inspire me........

thanks in advance!

A little bit of something different.....

No card today, but do have something a little different to share with you all......and it did come out rather yummy, so I wish I could share it with you all too!
Have got a week off work, so I decided to ditch the usual sunday housework frenzy and do some baking instead. This is a growing love of mine and I usually stick to cupcakes or a basic sponge cake, but today I went for a Banana Cake, and I was quite pleased with the way it went....
